One touch made her crave him. Her shocking choice will change everything.
Biology student Laura Prince lands a plum internship deep in the Michigan wilderness. When she discovers a lone black wolf with piercing gold eyes in the forest, she feels a connection to him she can’t explain. Stranger still, no one believes what she saw was real. Then, she encounters Malcolm Devane -- a very real, tall, dark, brooding stranger with hauntingly familiar golden eyes. Laura is drawn to Mal in ways she knows are dangerous. But, when everything Laura has worked for gets torn away, he’s the only one she can turn to.
Exiled from his native pack lands, Mal is on a mission of redemption. If he can bring down a rival Alpha wolf and reclaim his pack, he just might get the chance to return home. But when he meets Laura, she stirs a dark passion in him he thought he could never have again. He knows instantly that she’s his fated mate but it may be the very thing that gets her killed. For a powerful enemy with nothing left to lose won’t hesitate to hurt Laura to get to Mal. Even though Mal knows the safest thing to do is walk away, the dark wolf inside him may be too strong to deny.
Reader’s Note Each book in the Wild Lake Wolves series is a full length, standalone, cliffhanger free, super sexy, werewolf shifter romance. You can read them in any order but the smoking hot events within each are interconnected and happen chronologically. These wolves like it rough! If you’re not into that, you might want to sit this one out. However if you like hot, dominant, alpha male werewolf shifters and the kickass heroines who will do anything to please them, then one-click away and enjoy the ride!

This book was neither here nor there. It was nothing particularly bad about it. Sure, I liked the wolf part of it and the writing was okay. At some scenes it was exciting. However, there was nothing particularly great about it either.I actually sort of liked the first two to three chapters in the book. The plot was building up and the characters were actually somewhat interesting. This however took a sudden turn when human Mal came into the picture. As soon as Laura found out who and what he was the story took a turnaround from Intriguing and mysterious to too fast paced, too obvious and just plain boring. In around 50 % into the story I found out everything, literally everything that made me intrigued too keep reading the book, all the unanswered questions and twists. At 50 %. What was the point to keep reading then? I felt like there were no reason anymore. The author needs to work on not revealing everything too fast. As soon as you take away all the mysteries then the reason to keep reading kind of disappears.
The story did not really go into to much depth or detail either. Why was Mal banished? Why did Asher want to hurt Laura before he new she had a connection to Mal? Why was Asher even so fixated on revenge and drunk on power? The author never explained it and it did not seem like the story built up a believable reason for it either. The personalities and relationship felt flat as well. If the author just took some time to actually show us how much they loved each other instead of writing it out just in the dialogues the book would have been so much better and believable. All Mal and Laura seemed to see in each other was how hot the other were. The only way the author could convince the reader that they loved each other was by literary writing it out in the dialogues. That does not make it a good love story. We should not be convinced by their love by the author forcing us to see it. We should be able to feel it and experience it by reading between the lines. That's how you convince a reader. As it is now, I'm only convinced that the author wrote this story only so she could write some some dirty stuff. That was all there seemed to be between Mal and Laura anyway.
This is one of those books that I will probably forget that I've read in a year or two. The storyline is overused and basic and the characters, dialogues and relationships are dull, unrealistic and forced. There is not much memorable about it really.

Rogue Alpha Wild Lake Wolves Book 1 edition by Kimber White Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Just finished this book and I must say it wasn't what I expected - in a good way. Mal and Laura were great together their chemistry was smoking hot. This story had a different spin than a lot of other shifter romances and it was a nice change. Great job!!
Laura Prince is a biology student studying the white tail deer. Mal is a werewolf who is exiled from his pack. When Laura is attacked by her professor Mal rescues her. Their attraction is instantaneous. Laura aids Mal in reclaiming his status against a rival alpha werewolf, Asher. Will Mal be able to reclaim his status as leader and save the pack members from Asher? Can Laura and Mal survive the battle to claim their love?
This book contained some grammatical errors in the beginning of the story. There is explicit sex and adult language. The story is written in the heroine's point of view. I found the plot and subplots easy to follow.
A great tale. This book covers evil characters, betrayal, loss, love & redemption.
It's about a young woman who loves her Biology study, working on site with a team of other students & a somewhat sleazy Professor. While out in the field she meets a huge black wolf. Showing no fear but drawn to him. He in turn does also, even allowing her to touch him. The moment is lost with Professor shooting at it.
Then we meet Mal, when the Professor & Laura do some supply shopping. Mal shows a protective side that has Laura fascinated, wondering why she has such strong feelings towards him.
She soon learns there is more happening around her than just the study field trip. It's not until the Professor attacks her that she becomes more aware.
Mal comes to her rescue & struggles to fight the pull. They soon work together to fight for their freedom & those of Mal's old pack. It gets nasty but necessary as they come through in the end.
I loved the characters, Laura is tough, determined & a fighter.
Mal is an Alpha through & through with his need to right the wrong & protect whats his.
Laura in her way helps him be the man he was destined to be & right the wrongs of the past. It is filled with emotion & some humour. I couldn't help feeling sad for Luke & his suffering. Now it's his story I will read next.
I had been gifted a copy of this book some time ago & I am happy to voluntarily review this booķ with no obligation.
I have since purchsed the full set to enjoy. )
I have to agree with a few other reviewers, the first part was really good except for the typos.
Then about half way it got repetitive and wordy. It would have been more interesting had this
author not had her pass out during the fight and then since she was the one telling the story we
get a fast wrap up of the entire ordeal. after she wakes up. Not nearly as exciting that way.
LOTS of detailed Sex and cussing, F-bombs a plenty, so if that offends you then you should pass
on this one.
I don't think I will continue on with this series, I don't care much for this style of writing, but others will.
Happy reading..
